Jake's Picks - January 23rd
Since I really narrowed down my games, the results have been great. Since January 12th I am up 6.3 units in the NHL, and expect it to continue till the end of the year. Good luck to everyone tonight.
I like what your doing jake, the results have been better... stick with it,, dont give us anymore of this 7 plays in 1 night... if you need to wager more then add more 2 unit plays... stay selective,,,, tonight you have chosen 2 unders... i wish you luck, im neither on them or against them.. all you need is 1 of them to make a little change.... as a norm for me, i dont play under 4.5 or 5.. i dont like to play the 4.5 number at all.. i like to play over 5 (+1.20),, sometimes.. i like to play 5.5's under (especially at even money).. i played a 5.5 over tonight, hope it doesnt bite me... keep improving jake...

Bored at work study so I figured I'd do some writeups so people wanting to bet my games can get a little insight into my thought process.
NYRangers/Nashville Under 5 +115
Facing his old team, Rangers goalie Mike Dunham is peaking at the right time. Having given up only 7 goals in his last 5 contests, he is primed to ave a big game against a Predator team that has played in low scoring games all year at home. 14 of the 20 home games for the Preds have gone under the total this year, and Nashville is only scoring 2.2 goals a game on 8.7% accuracy there last 5 games despite playing some iffy goaltenders. Nashville's Tomas Vokaun, Dunham's replacement, has been solid as well lately. He has given up 12 goals in his last 5 games but 2 were against high scoring Vancouver who he held to just 2 goals his last time out. The Rangers offense has been doing decent lately, scoring 17 goals in their last 5 games, but that number is inflated do to 2 five goal games, one against the struggling Islanders. On the road, the Rangers have gone under 14 of their 22 games this year. These teams have played twice this year, with the games averaging 5 goals per game only because Nashville managed 4 goals in one contest in NY. With their committment to defense at home and 2 hot goalies going, this one just shouldn't go over the total. Prediction: NYR 2 Nashville 2.

i hate writeups,, they jinx me to death... i feel like when your really into your capping,, you get the ebb and flow for the game going.. Of course if your trying to convince someone else to play your games then writeups are an essential... just know if i comment too much on a particular game then i get jinxed... Too many Minn players tonight jake,,, watch the kings get them.. Im thinking of going from $100 per game to $150 per game, any comments on that jake?.. Jake on dec 15th i set aside $5000 to play hockey only with,, today i have $7915 in this bankroll,, ive been strictly playing $100 per game,, however with my win percentage over 60% with a big lean to dogs in my selections, im thinking of going to $150 per play,, any thoughts on that.. I want to build the 5k into 10k by MLB season (mar 25th).. I bet hockey and baseball in the same fashion,, by that i mean --- the same money management principles applied to each..... always remember jake, it isnt who you bet as much as it is --- how you bet.. i do ok hitting 50% in (NHL-MLB), give me 60% and im rolling.. im bored also..

Dwayne Roloson has been nothing short of spectacular filling in the for the injured Manny Fernandez. Since taking over starting duties, he has gone 3-3 since takin over but has a 1.32 goals against average as well as a stellar .949 save percentage. To put it simply, this guy is doing incredible. It helps that the Kings aren't scoring extremely well. They are averaging 2 goals per game their last 5 games and have struggled against the Wild this year with only 7 goals in 3 games, none against the red-hot Roloson. Unfortunately for the Wild, their offense is as cold as their goalie is hot. They have only scored over 2 goals once in their last 9 games, and have only 16 goals in that 9 game span. No matter who takes goal for LA, I can't see Minnesota scoring more than 2 goals. Prediction: No more than 4 goals. 2-1 OT game written all over it. Slight edge to Minny.

SSI, in your case I think $150 is okay, as long as you stick to it. Don't go on a losing streak and change back to $100. You are good enough where you will make money from this point till the end of the year, and you have enough to do $150 safely. If you keep the same habits as you've had so far, it should turn out nicely and get you a nice chunk for the MLB season which I'm eagerly anticipating. LA/Minny is gonna be close. The only reason I give the slight edge to Minny is LA is playing back to back and their backup has been not so great this year so I gave Minny the 2-1 edge. Either way, it's gonna be tight. Good luck on it.
if i go to $150 per game then it would be that way until i blew the $2915 profit that ive got.. im not doing it yet,, just thinking about it.. this is the way that i gamble, i start smaller ($100 for me), build a bankroll then increase the bet,,, im a flat bettor jake (95% of the time),, so im looking to build my base play.. Hope your wrong on Minny,, ive seen this exact setup a few times this year,, most are thinking Minny,,, La will get the win here. Jake i would bet over 5 (+1.20) if forced to pick the total but maybe im wrong, i dont have any on it, so hope you hit it..
